Fishing Report - August 2017
The days are getting warmer and the fishing has been hot!
With the rise in temperature Awoonga has started to fire producing good numbers of Barramundi ranging from 60cm to 1 Metre in length. These fish have typically been showing up in the shallower bays in the early morning & late afternoon. Sunrise and sunset are always good times to target Barramundi especially on surface lures & frogs which seem to be popular methods. Spanish Mackerel have been showing up in large numbers around Rundle Island & Rock Cod Shoals. The reef fishing has been producing some exceptional captures of Coral Trout, Red Throat, Tusk Fish & Red Emperor. The harbour is definitely worth a fish with reports of Black Jew and Fingermark coming from around rocky outcrops & drop offs.
Cheers Pats Tackleworld.
